What we collect, and what we don't.

What this site collects

Reading the site: we use Google Analytics to count visits — which pages get read, roughly where in the world people are, and which links brought them. It tells us what's working. It cannot tell us who you are, we've turned off advertising and ad-personalisation features, and we don't buy or sell audience data. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, we don't load it at all.

Writing to us: the form at /start is the only place we ask for anything personal. When you submit it, we receive:

• Your name and email address
• Your company, if you choose to give it — the field is optional
• What you wrote about your situation
• Which kind of help you selected, if you selected any
• Basic context about how you arrived — the page address you came from and any campaign tags in the link. This tells us which of our own pages are working. It is not tied to any advertising network.

Our web host records standard server logs, including IP addresses, as every web server does. We don't analyse those logs or connect them to form submissions.

Why we have it, and what we do with it

First and foremost: to read what you sent, reply to you, and — if it looks like a fit — talk about the work. Submitting the form also triggers one confirmation email so you know it arrived.

From time to time we may also send you something we think is genuinely relevant — a note on what we're building, or something useful we've written. Not often, and never a drip sequence. Every one of those has a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing has no effect on a live conversation: replies to something you asked about always keep coming.

What we will never do, whatever else changes:

• Sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for their own use
• Use what you wrote to train any model
• Pass your details to a data broker or advertising network
• Make you talk to a bot — a person reads every note

The lawful basis, if you're somewhere that asks for one, is our legitimate interest in responding to someone who contacted us about working together, and in telling occasional prospects about relevant work — balanced by the unsubscribe link being in every message.

Who else can see it

A few service providers process it on our behalf. Each is named so you can check their own terms:

Airtable

Stores the submission as a record in our private workspace, so a note doesn't get lost in an inbox.

SendGrid (Twilio)

Delivers the confirmation email to the address you gave.

Google Cloud / Firebase

Hosts this site and runs the small function that receives the form.

Google Analytics

Counts visits to the site. Set to not share data for advertising.

Nobody else. We'd only disclose anything further if the law required it, and we'd tell you unless we were forbidden from doing so. These providers may process data in the United States; if you're writing from the EU or UK, submitting the form means your note travels there.

How long we keep it

If we work together, the record stays as part of the client relationship. If we don't, we keep it while a conversation might still be live and clear it out afterwards — and we'll delete it sooner the moment you ask.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live — the UK, the EU, California and several other US states — these are legal rights; we honour them either way, and there's no charge.

Email pm@vntos.io and say what you want. It reaches Peter directly. Deletion requests are simple and we don't ask why.

We don't sell personal information and never have, so there is nothing to opt out of under California's "Do Not Sell or Share" provisions.

Children

This site is aimed at businesses. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we start collecting something new, this page changes and the date at the top changes with it. The commitments in "why we have it" — never sold, never used for training, always a way out — aren't going to move.
